GDPR Statement

The EU General Protection Regulations (GDPR) comes in to force on 25th May 2018. In preparation for the new regulations we have been reviewing our business processes to ensure we are in compliance before the deadline. There will be a statement and link on our website www.scookautobody.co.uk in the coming weeks with a link to our privacy policy.

As part of this exercise we have reviewed the data we hold relating to our customers. All the data held is for business purposes and the efficient supply of our service to them. Data we hold includes:

Key contact data including name, address, email address, telephone numbers and details of your estimated and/or repaired vehicle etc. for staff involved in the estimate and/or repair of your vehicle(s).
Contact data including name, address, email address, telephone numbers and details of your estimated or repaired vehicle etc. for accounts staff including offsite Accountants involved in payment of invoices, financial queries and VAT and tax returns to HMRC.

The information held will only be used to send standard emails such as order confirmations, queries, invoices and statements. Your data will only be used by S Cook Autobody Ltd and will not be passed to any third party for marketing purposes. During the course of the transaction we may have to share the information we hold on yourself with a third party such as an insurance company/assessor or a contractor working on our and your behalf in order to complete the repairs as authorised by the said insurance company and requested by you.

S Cook Autobody Ltd has a legal basis to retain information for a period of seven years after the work has completed in order to make available information which may be required by HMRC in connection with S Cook Autobody Ltd tax/VAT affairs, after which point it will be confidentially destroyed.
